April is Autism Awareness Month. Each year 1 in 45 children, ages 3 through 17, will be diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Many families never expect to hear this diagnosis.
There are several organizations out there to help families face this diagnosis. One of them is Making Connections, located in the Madison County area and serving the Huntsville and surrounding areas. Norma Pedersen, ASA Network Leader for Making Connections, states, “Making Connections Mission is to improve the lives of individuals affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families through education and advocacy.”
We here at UCH have many ASD congregation members therefore we are proud to present Norma Pedersen as our guest speaking for this event.
This is an all you can eat Pancake breakfast. Menu will contain regular pancakes as well as gluten free and vegan options. Proceeds raised will help benefit Making Connections. Please send any questions you may have to [email protected]
