Applied Behavioral Concepts, Inc.
Applied Behavioral Concepts, Inc., established in September 2000, utilizes the principles of applied behavioral analysis to assist and educate children with Pervasive Developmental Delay (PDD), Autism, and Aspergers Syndrome. Currently housed within a typical preschool environment, Applied Behavioral Concepts is able to provide therapy to include incidental and inclusion opportunities in addition to Discrete Trial Therapy most commonly associated with autism treatment (Surgeon General’s Report). Applied Behavioral Concepts, Inc., accepts students pre-school through third grade.
Providing Services
Recent reports list Huntsville as having one of the highest incidence of Autism and PDD in the U.S. Applied Behavioral Concepts, Inc., focuses on servicing the rising number of children in our area who require therapy for these conditions. Research has shown center-based therapy programs have a success rate of up to 47%, as reported by the University of Los Angeles. This is primarily due to the consistency of the training hours and the strict therapy technique that a facility is able to reliably provide. Home therapy is only one of the options available to educate children diagnosed with a developmental delay. Applied Behavioral Concepts, Inc., is able to provide several alternatives to include other facets of ABA and enhance the childhood learning experience:
o Discrete trial therapy for early learners is provided in an open environment.
o Incidental therapy is taught in a preschool classroom with typical peers.
o Inclusion, when appropriate, is also available with support provided.
o 1:1 or 2:1 teaching ratio
Home therapy options are also available to supplement either our program or other learning environments, such as children who are receiving school-based services. Further, our parent training and team meetings enable parents to become active participants in their child's progress in learning.
Applied Behavioral Concepts, Inc., is an approved Tricare Insurance services provider.
