ABA Outpatient Services

Mitchell’s Place is dedicated to providing research-based interventions and therapies to children on the Autism Spectrum, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy and Verbal Behavior (VB) Therapy. We have recently expanded our existing preschool ABA/VB programs in order to provide these therapies to elementary aged children through our new ABA Outpatient Services.

Amy Cox, M.Ed., BCBA supervises the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services at Mitchell’s Place. Amy received her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s Degree in Special Education with a specialty in Autism from the University of Georgia and taught children with Autism in public schools for four years.  She received a graduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis from Penn State University and is now a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).  Amy has been involved in the ABA/VB programs at Mitchell’s Place since August 2009.

 ABA Outpatient Services include:

  • Skill Assessment (e.g., ABLLS-R, VBMAPP)
  • Individualized Treatment Plans for Skill Acquisition
  • Discrete Trial Training/Teaching (DTT)
  • Natural Environment Training/Teaching (NET)
  • Direct Instruction targeting language and academic skills (e.g., SRA Reading Mastery, SRA Language for Learning)
  • Daily data collection and analysis
  • Verbal Behavior Approach
  • Functional Behavior Assessment/Functional Analysis
  • Individualized Behavior Intervention Plans

ABA Outpatient Services are provided at Mitchell’s Place in the white house next to our main building.  One-on-one sessions are 1, 2, or 3 hours in length and are available 1-5 days a week.  Our ABA therapists are supervised by Amy Cox.  Services are offered year round, with the exception of spring break, Christmas, Thanksgiving, the week of July 4th, and federal holidays.

If you are interested in scheduling ABA services through our outpatient program, please contact:
