What is Times Out, Inc.?
Times Out, Inc. is a not-for-profit social service organization that provides support services for adults who have mental retardation, mental illness, or pervasive developmental disabilities. The organization will provide companion services that will enable the person to participate in social and recreational activities within their local community such as eating out, going to movies, attending and participating in sporting events, etc.
Mission Statement
Times Out, Inc., a non-profit organization, will develop, implement and evaluate a high quality program providing support services for adults who are mentally challenged. The focus of this program builds on friendships, which will improve the quality of life for these specific individuals and their families.
Founder, Ernie Dease
Times Out’s Executive Director, Ernie Dease, became aware of a unique population which can have their quality of life significantly improved with a simple approach. Through building a simple relationship with a local gentleman with autism, Mr. Dease saw how a formal companionship can make positive improvements in the lives of the mentally challenged and their family. The gentleman’s family was so impressed with the results that they provided encouragement and financial support so that others might benefit. Thus, Times Out, Inc was formed as a 501(c)3 organization in order to provide trained companions to adults who are mentally challenged.
