Roger Plamondon, Ph.D.

Dr. Plamondon is a licensed psychologist who serves individuals 18 months through 18 years old.  His training has a strong emphasis on behavioral, applied behavior analysis (ABA) and cognitive-behavioral treatments. His primary treatment area related to individuals with ASDs is functional communication training of non-speaking children using Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS).  Other areas of expertise are functional analysis, functional assessment, school consultation, school-based behavioral and academic interventions, and navigating the special education system.

After completing his BS at Michigan State University, Dr. Plamondon completed graduate work at Central Michigan University, earning masters and specialist degrees in 1995 and a PhD in 1999. His predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship were through the Nebraska Internship Consortium, with predoctoral specialization in assessment and intervention with individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illness and/or severe behavioral disorders. Dr. Plamondon’s postdoctoral fellowship in behavioral pediatrics was completed at the Munroe Meyer Institute at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. From 2001 to 2009, Dr. Plamondon worked at the Children’s Behavioral Health Clinic at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. During 2009 and 2010, he headed the Psychoeducation and Psychology Clinics at the Sparks Clinics at UAB.
