“FUNKY FISH FRY” EVENT TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR AUTISM ON APRIL 10

Hosted by the Junior Board of the Autism Society of Alabama and the Junior Council of Mitchell’s Place

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. Did you know that a child is diagnosed with autism every 20 minutes, and that more children have autism than Diabetes, Cancer, Down ’s syndrome and AIDS combined?

To help raise awareness of autism in Alabama, the Junior Boards of the Autism Society of Alabama and Mitchell’s Place are teaming up to host the “Funky Fish Fry” on Saturday, April 10th, at the Open Door Café in Mountain Brook. The “Funky Fish Fry” festivities are from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will include a silent auction, fun events for children and live music from the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, George Porter, Jr. and others. Mouth-watering food from local restaurants including Ezell’s Fish Camp, Open Door Café, The Blue Bagel and Dyron’s Low Country will be served. Guests can bid on great silent auction items, and Studio by the Tracks will be selling fabulous artwork made by their students.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door or online. Children 12 and under are admitted free. For more information and to purchase your tickets now, go to www.funkyfishfry.com.
