Transition Programs/Employment Preparation? 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Good evening,
I am looking for information on transition programs in Alabama that can help my 21-year-old son with Aspergers Syndrome realize his independent-living and employment opportunities. Can you please tell me of any programs, including information on location and reputation? At present we are considering the Austism Center at Auburn University.

Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
JGS

The Auburn Autism Center is an excellent resource.

If you haven't done so already, you need to connect with Vocational Rehabilitation. We would be glad to assist you to locate those numbers if you do not have them. ADRS, the parent organization of VR, is responsible for this aspect of service. Although, the indiviual does have to meet their eligibility criteria. They actually have a wide variety of things they have done to support individuals on the spectrum. If you would like to disucss, please call us at the Autism Society.
