Special Needs Sports 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago
My daughter is playing softball and while watching her practice Tuesday, Jon said, "Jon play ball?" I was so excited, it's the first time he's ever voiced an interest in anything team related. He would get hurt on a regular team, so I'm hoping to get him into a special needs program in the spring. I remember reading or hearing a while back that there is a program in the Hoover area. Anyone have any information on this?

Hi JonsMom,

Thanks, TRobin! That is what I'm looking for, but closer to home. That's a bit far. I may have to take this on as a project; start one out this way.

Thanks again!

Moody Miracle League is amazing and we have parents that drive an hour or so for their child to participate. It is so worth it. No practices and games on Sat. We have a summer and a fall league.
They also have other activities for the kids during the season.

Check it out at www.moodymiracleleague.com.

It is not only a great activity for the kids but also a great hookup with other parents that are living the same life that you are.
There are kids of all abilities and it goes from ages 6-90....

In our area (lower Alabama) local churches have a program called UPWARD. They are basketball and soccer and are offered yearly. It is almost time for basketball season now. Do a search for Upward Sports or call some of your local baptist or methodist churches. My son has participated for several years and it is a GREAT program. Good luck
