My son started Sensory Integration Therapy with the OT and ST at our elementary school when he turned 3, 2 days a week. It made a huge difference, he overcame most of his sensory issues or at least made them tolerable for him. This was of course free. He is now 9 and in 3rd grade and they still work with him on some lingering SID issues. He has benefitted greatly from the SID therapy at our school and have had no need to seek outside private pay services. When he was evaluated at SParks they agreed that our school(Springville Elementary) and the two therapists he sees there are doing a great job.

First I'd find out if your child has significant enough delays for the school to provide services, if not, you are probably on your own. I will be taking my 7 yr. old AS son to a lady at Children's South on Acton Road. She comes highly recommended by a speech therapist we recently used. She is quite hard to get in with (you have to be persistant. I know other Aspie parents who have had tremendous success with her. I will email you her name.
