TOPIC: Re:DAN doctor

DAN doctor 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I am interested in exploring the option of using a DAN doctor (Defeat Autism Now). Anyone here tried this route? There does not seem to be much interest in this in Alabama (maybe its a left coast thing!) There is not a DAN doc in Alabama, but there are 2 in the Nashville area and one in Atlanta (who I personally thought sounded like a real quack). I have talked to several other Aspie moms and no one even knew what I was talking about. Any shared experiences would be very helpful.

Thanks

Hi,
We also did some research in the DAN approach and decided that our son did not really meet the usual criteria.
He has no GI or food or allergy issues, sleeps well, is not hyper nor has low weight or low growth.
After talking to the Autism Research Team, we decided that there really wasn't any concrete or publishable evidence that DAN really Defeats autism in any way. There are really just anecdotal stories about it, but not any testable results really. While it may certainly help kids that are GFCF sensitive or have other GI issues. It seems to help those issues and behaviors stemming from that and(to us) not really the autism itself. But good luck.

Re:DAN doctor 2 Months ago
Dr David Adams is the DAN! doctor we use. He is the doctor who practices out of the HBOT center. We like him and have heard many people sing his praises. There is a whole lot to be said about going the biomedical route. It has helped our son so much.
Dr. Adams' contact information is listed on this website somewhere - I believe you can get started with filling out the paperwork by emailing Becky Davidson at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

I have heard good things about Dr. Adams as well. We go to Dr. Kalb in Franklin, TN because he is completely covered by our military insurance. We have seen great improvements with biomedical treatment despite the fact that we didn't have any glaring GI issues.
