We just moved to Alabama from Georgia and I am trying to find a school for my son. My husband travels all over Alabama, so we are open to where to live. We came from a school where the teacher had five autistic children and one downes syndrome child in which the classroom was contained. By the end of the first quarter, the kids were actually role playing and tattling on each other. The kids did so well, that they actually took two field trips (meals at a restaurant included). I would love to find a school that promoted the contained classrooms instead of mainstreaming. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. God bless!
