You are not alone in this. I think people with moderate to low functioning kids have issues that are harder to deal with & less easy answers. My son in 9 1/2 & is not interested in potty training. This isn't perfect but the only time he will sit on the toilet is at night. So we put the shower on let him get all wet and the behavior training hits in. He jumps out of the shower uses the toilet like it is a game. Remember putting water on peoples hand when they were asleep at camp? Same idea. He only soaks through occasionally now. I have got a feeling you are an awesome mom & you will come up with a creative answer.

It seems we might have found a solution, which I will share here in case someone else needs help.

Stephen is still wearing the XL Good Nites, but at night, I also put him in a small Depends Maximum Absorbency diaper. These aren't fabric-style, but more of a traditional diaper with a waterproof outer layer, and they must be put on like a diaper. I was afraid he would fight me on having to lay down to get this on, but so far he is allowing it without a fight. He has only leaked a few mornings in the last 2 weeks, and that is definitely an improvement.
