Tuscaloosa Autism Networking Group Meeting
Saturday, 14 January 2012, 17:30
by Autism Society of AlabamaHits : 40

I wanted extend a personal invitation to you to join me at our next autism awareness events. On Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 5:30 p.m., I will host a parents support group meeting. The meeting is one hour long and will be held at Covenant Presbyterian on Hargrove Road. This meeting is held the second Saturday of every month. This will be the first meeting held at Covenant since the tornado. I have invited Dr. Angela Barber, to be the Guest Speaker.

Listed below I have copied Dr. Barber's bio. Respite care is also available for the meeting on Saturday. We have trained Autism professionals that will work with the kids until 10:00p.m. Saturday night. Dinner is provided for the kids and the cost is very minimal, like $10.00 for the child with autism and an additional $5. for any siblings. I have created this event on Facebook.

I am also seeking your assistance with marketing and/or public relations for our Valentine's Day event. Sarah Morrison, Owner of the Tuscaloosa Flower Shoppe has again offered to donate all delivery cost on Valentine's Day Arts 'N Autism. Local Firefighters have volunteered to deliver flower arrangements for this event. Last year, it was a great success but I will like to grow this event. http://www.tuscaloosaflowershoppe.com/

Send me any idea's that you have to help make this event a GREAT success, I would like to meet with each of you upon my return to Tuscaloosa.

Dr. Angela Barber is an assistant professor in the UA Department of Communicative Disorders and the Research Director of the UA ASD Clinic, has clinical and research experience in the early identification and intervention of children with ASD and severe communication impairments.
